Employee Welfare
During its history, Centrax has developed an enviable reputation for innovation and quality. This has largely been due to the quality of our people and an unswerving commitment to working together to deliver the very best products and service. As well as a reputation for technical excellence and the quality of our after-sales support, we are at the very forefront of engineering technology.
Centrax is committed to employee development through lifelong learning. The Company is approved by the engineering sector skills council, SEMTA (Science and Engineering Manufacturing Training Alliance) to provide a safe learning environment through qualified and professional staff.
Each year school leavers commence Advanced Apprenticeships that are delivered in-house in the fields of Engineering and Information Technology and have a well-above average success rate. More mature employees undertake National Vocational Qualification training that leads to recognition of their skills and knowledge in manufacturing, materials handling, quality, technical support, health and safety and management functions. In addition Centrax supports The Year in Industry, Graduate Sponsorship, sandwich year placements and encourages staff to gain professional certification.
The facilities at our manufacturing centre in Newton Abbot include a fully-equipped Training School with a workshop, 3 classrooms, a self-learning centre and IT training suite and are among the best in the region. The Learning and Skills Council for Devon and Cornwall contracts with Centrax for the delivery of work-based training - as this is government supported, all our training is subject to rigorous audits from the Adult Learning Inspectorate.
Further supporting our constant drive for excellence and improvement are partnership contracts termed service level agreements with local FE and HE Colleges where learners are supported while attending vocational and self-development courses at all levels.
Promoting equal opportunities are fundamental to the Company's philosophy. We provide work experience, sponsor undergraduates and encourage visits from schools and colleges, all of which help develop good relations with the local community. The implementation of family-friendly work shift patterns has also opened wider opportunities for employment and career development.
